Digital Drawing

I was playing today... not really wanting to make a mess with paints or crayon wax. I decided to try something new. So I went digital using photoshop elements... not sure if this is way to do it but I liked the results. The skull was painted previously.

Angel Swap

I'm hosting an Angel Swap at ATCsforAll, I've been so busy that finally found the time to finish my angels... mostly mixed media, acrylic inks and paints. Bianca was the hardest to finish (green background) She is a little fighter... I almost lost her since I had to ripped her off two background that were not working for her. I had to cut her dress and she end up with boots.

November ART

I hope to get to post more art this month. Work should slow down this month. I'm late for a personal trade at ATCsforAll. So I had to finish this piece using melted crayon, prismacolors, acrylics and rub-ons.

My Journey with Frida

After a long hours at my job and business travel... I came back from my last trip and wanted to release all the pressures. I wasn't sure what to do so I started tearing paper and I covered a canvas that had been sitting in my studio for couple of years. I looked at some of my work and decided to paint Frida since she got me published. Very happy with how she turned out! What do you think?

I'm published in Somerset Studios July-August 2009

This has been a wonderful experience since I created my Melted Crayon Technique. Past January I sent a submission to Somerset Studios with four pieces of Frida Kahlo Art done with my technique. I got an email a couple of weeks ago letting me know that I'm published in this bi-monthly issue. What a great surprise! Please if you have an opportunity to buy this issue I'm on page 108.

I went to a photoshop seminar in Washington DC a couple of weeks ago. I was taking some pictures yesterday at my neighbor's yard. I put to practice some of the tricks learned and this is the result. I used a faded scanned melted crayon background.

This was an art journey for sure! - I was experimenting with liquid sculpey on Canvas panel, I used melted crayon technique on top of the sculpey and it was very slick, I used very dark colors of purple and orange. It was hard to paint with acrylics, but I'm very happy with it. To finish it...I used clear embossed. Postcard 6X4

Melted Crayon Inches

This is a good use of left overs of Melted Crayon Backgrounds. My first time I've done inches and It was a challenge to paint in such small scale. I think I need to get new glasses lol!

Melted Crayon -Water and Oil Mix

Today...I tried something new I wanted to mix water colors and the melted crayon background. It is just like trying to mix water and oil. Can you tell which card it is? The eraser helped a lot priming for the watercolors. The other three cards are melted crayon and acrylics a lot easier to mix.

Melted Crayon ATCs

Two more ATCs done with the Melted Crayon Technique. This seems to work for me when I get stuck on what to draw. I always seem to try to get references. This is why I'm in love with this technique. I let my imagination take off and read between the random swirls or ink spots. Very happy with these two cards and I hope the recipients are too.

Today's Project

I've been working on a Class Project today! I looked for that perfect stamp everywhere until I found her. Finally made it here yesterday... I named her Myra - Jewel of the Nile. She is so beautiful. This is for a Melted Crayon Background Class. I'm including the before and after as I started with this project.

No Muse!

Sometimes it's so difficult to get ideas for swaps. When that happens I go to my melted crayon technique and let the swirls talk to me. These images appeared on the cards and all I needed was to follow the outlines. Makes the cards very unique and I don't need to look at pictures for reference.
