For Day 29 I sketched an ATC and Day 30 I painted it. I'm better with female faces.

Well, today I'm taking a little break! I still would like to share my art with you. I made this ATC a few months ago. It was one of my exercises of making a background page and within the abstract background to find a realistic shape. She is not a pretty lady but she shows a some kind of pain on her face... maybe mad... maybe sorrows...... not sure.

Butterfly... little butterfly...

As you were fluttering around me

you made me look up to the sky,

you whispered in my ear,

and showed me

how to spread my wings and fly....

I've been working in stages, seems like I got a lot done the first day... now the details are taking a little more time. After flying around finally the butterfly landed on the canvas.

I worked on this piece until 2:00 AM, still WIP... she is in the cold garage at this moment with a coat of fixative because of the strong smell.

Today I'm working on a canvas 18x24... working with large pieces almost impossible to get it done in one day! The challenge is to create an art habit. I may be working on this project for a while...

More polymer clay angels... the bigger angel is about 3x2 inches and the small one is 2x1.25 inch
I call it Mama angel and baby. I had fun making them.

Today I was playing with Polymer Clay... I was inspired to make a small angel.. no pattern, all hand made. One of the beads is also hand made. I think it would make a wonderful Christmas tree ornament.

Melted crayon technique, hand drawn with india ink, gel pen, and mixed media ATC. I like to do free drawings... this image appeared with the swirls created by the melted crayon. The proportions may not be perfect, but I like the freedom of it.

It's getting a little hectic, trying to keep up with Project 365. Both cards are melted crayon backgrounds.

Day 2 of 365 Project

I'm learning a new technique called paper paintings. First I started painting different types of paper with different shades of color.
It's a little difficult to tear small pieces of paper, glue them on a sketch and create a painting. I had to do some touch ups with paints. This my first try, I may get better with practice.
The background is from my technique melted crayon.

Today is a new beginning, I'm participating in 2011 Project 365; which means that I will be creating one piece of art everyday! I'm starting with my favorite subject Frida Kahlo.
